The Annapurna Panorama Trek offers magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. This trek, which reaches a maximum altitude of 3,210 meters / 10,531 feet at Poonhill, provides a breathtaking panorama of peaks such as Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri, especially during sunrise.
The trek passes through lush rhododendron forests, terraced farmlands, and charming Gurung villages, offering a cultural experience alongside stunning landscapes. Suitable for all trekkers, including beginners, it provides a rewarding and relatively easy adventure in the Annapurna region.
Annapurna Panorama Hiking begins from lovely scenic city Pokhara, a leading tourist spot of Nepal, and in the whole Himalaya. Depart from the hotel for a few hour exciting drive that leads you outskirt of Pokhara city and the valley.
A scenic drive facing outmost views of Annapurna Himalaya range, on reaching the foot of the hill at Phedi. Drive leads on winding uphill through lovely farm villages towards Dhampus, a nice Gurung village situated on a high ridge.
Dhampus village offers a grand panorama of Annapurna Himalaya along with the Manaslu and Dhaulagiri mountain range. From here the walk starts on gradual ups through lovely forest and then climb for an hour to Australian Camp.
Australian Camp is located on a small wide high plateau, actually a summer grazing field for local villagers' cattle. The place originally called Thulo-Kharka, in the early 1980’s Australian expeditions to Mt. Annapurna-I camped on this spot.
Hence the name Australian Camp was tagged to this day, a beautiful scenic place with nice lodges for an overnight stop. On checking into your rooms with time for a short stroll or just relax and marvel at the surrounding magnificent scenery. One hour drive , 3 hour walk. Overnight in Australian camp/ Dhampus village.
Our last day of hiking, early morning before breakfast enjoy striking sunrise over an array of peaks. Then having breakfast along with scenic views of Annapurna mountain range, last day walk downhill to a road-head at Kande village / Phedi. From the main Pokhara and Baglung highway an hour drive to end our marvelous Annapurna Panorama at beautiful Pokhara city. Overnight in Pokhara in your hotel.
I had an incredible time on the Annapurna Panorama Trek! The 2-day adventure was the perfect short escape, with stunning views of the Annapurna range and charming villages along the way. The trek was well-paced, allowing me to take in the scenery without feeling rushed. I loved that it started and ended in Pokhara, which made it convenient for my travel plans. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience even better. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer in the mountain village overnight! Highly recommend for those short on time but wanting a taste of the Himalayas.
This trek was a great introduction to the Annapurna region in just two days. The landscapes we passed were so beautiful, with rhododendron forests and terraced fields, and the sight of Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks was breathtaking. The overnight stay in a traditional lodge was comfortable, and the food served was delicious! The trek was short but packed with great views and experiences. The only downside was that I wished we had more time to explore the villages, but for a quick trek, this was perfect
