Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trekking, an exclusive journey of Epic Adventurers take you around remote corners of Central Himalaya. The closest mountain range from the capital Kathmandu, yet so far and isolated and least ventured region. For the last few decades, Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley trekking is slowly gaining popularity due to its pristine location.

The region around Ganesh and Ruby Valley is a fresh, raw, and undisturbed country hidden by high green hills and mountains. Ganesh Himal is a massive range, also called Yangra in the Tibetan language, clearly seen from Kathmandu valley on a clear day. The main Ganesh Himal-I is at 7, 422 m high, with adjoining satellite peaks from II to IV also called Pabil. The name Ganesh comes from the Hindu mythological elephant-headed God, the south face of Ganesh Himal- IV or Pabil peak. 

Resembles head of an elephant hence the name Ganesh Himal, located within Central Himalaya between Langtang and Manaslu Mountain range.
The region is sparsely populated at the beginning of this trek, the hill tribes are mostly Tamang follows the Buddhism religion. As well practice ancient culture called Bon sect of pre-Buddhism, worship of nature and mountain spirits. 

The Ruby a beautiful valley, the name ruby comes from precious stones and gems, found around this scenic area. At present is almost scarce that still exists but very few and hard to find valuable stones.

Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trekking starts with an interesting driving journey heading north of Kathmandu valley close to Langtang Himal. 
The adventure begins from a rural village of Bhalche and Thulo-Gaon, a large farm village of the Tamang community. 

The walk leads beyond human settlement and villages entering into the wilderness of mountains and deep forest of rhododendron and pine trees. As the trek progresses then over Sing-La Pass the highest point of the adventure then reaching scenic Ruby valley. From the beginning of the trek view of massive Ganesh Himal follows you almost to the end of the adventure. The top of Sing-La Pass rewards with a spectacular panorama of the high snow mountain range with Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang Himal. The view extends as far towards Annapurna Himalaya on the west horizon, an enjoyable walk around scenic Ruby valley. The area around is surrounded by hills covered in dense forest, where walk leads up to higher ridges with steep descend.

After some days in complete isolation, slowly walks leads you to human settlements and farm villages. As journey heads towards the low warmer area on leaving beautiful Ruby valley, then ending the trek at Dhading Besi.  

Dhading Besi for last overnight after completing the walk on this large town and headquarter of Dhading district. Next morning an exciting drive brings you back to Kathmandu where our adventure concludes. After a great marvelous experience on Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trekking.

The standard itinerary are just guidelines, some days of trekking and drives might lead us to change, due to the road and walking trail conditions.
This trekking region is more of an exploration, on less visited areas where some mountain trail can get damaged by rock fall and landslides due to monsoon heavy rain. However, we will try our best making the itinerary as it is, even though it might lead to some changes in this situation our guide will take the right decision to make the trip a success with enjoyable time.

Trip Itinerary

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.

Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner. 

A day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day trek to Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley.

Adventure begins with early morning drive towards Nuwakott district, heading North West from Kathmandu valley, journey lead past Trisuli town around low warm farm area. As drive continues on leaving the main road from Trisuli Bazaar on rough country road to Bhalche / Thulo-Gaon for overnight stop in the comfort of local lodge or in tented camp.

First day walk leads north facing views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu range as  trek continues with climb towards cooler green hill, past Gumbu and Phikuri Danda ridges coming across small farm villages and grazing area then ending the day walk on reaching a small area of Rupchet, amidst beautiful rhododendron-oaks and pine forest. Overnight is set on a grassy meadow.

After a pleasant stop at Rupchet with close view of Ganesh Himal, start the day heading down back into lush green vegetation and tall tree lines. Walk further west past few cattle herder temporary shelters amidst forest surrounding then reach to a wide clear field to set our overnight camp.

A spare and rest day as contingency, on this day take a short hike and explore the unexplored hidden corners of Ganesh Himal and Sing-La area, where our guide will check the route for next day climb to cross the high Sing-La Pass.

Start the morning with steep climb into forest as uphill continues for few hours to reach on top of Sing-La. One of the few path rarely trekked by only few travelers once in a while. From the high point of Sing-La enjoy grand panorama of rolling hills and valleys with massif Ganesh Himal range, Manaslu Himalaya in the west with Langtang Himal towards east, the view extends as far towards Annapurna Himalaya in the far west horizon. After an eye catching views descend to the base of Sing-La pass for overnight camp.

From here onward an interesting walk to reach Shertung and Chalis-Gaon villages enjoy the morning views of Ganesh Himal, then towards a lovely forest with grazing fields and temporary shelter of cattle herder. As climb starts short up and downhill to Shertung a farm area with few houses. From here with more downhill to Chalis Gaon, populated by Tamang the high hill tribe interwoven to Buddhist religion and interesting culture, a nice place for overnight camp.

Morning starts with short climb to Tikka Danda a high ridge offers super panorama of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu Mountain range, from the top descend to nice area called Tatopani which means a place with hot natural spring.

Enjoy a refreshing bathe and continue walk to a small farm village at Nebar an isolated small settlement in the midst of no-where in complete wilderness surrounded by lovely forest with views of distant peaks.

After a beautiful morning around tranquil surrounding, start the journey heading south west with climb to Timal-Danda and to Kapur, a small farm village with marvelous views of surrounding landscapes with snow-mountains. Slowly walk reaches at Lapchet, and then few hour of gradual walk to Lapa-Gaon for overnight stop where our camp is set on the farm yard. 

From here our adventure finally enters the beautiful Ruby valley as route follows past Kachet and Kichet a small farm villages. As walk continues through lovely woods facing views of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal, then end the day at Ri-Gaon for overnight stop, camping on a school yard or on the farm area.

Enjoy the lovely surrounding, morning walk from here leads to Dhading district around low warm farm area. As walk continues altitude drops where route leads to several smaller farm villages of Kutawa-Arukhet-Bandhan-Cheelang then at Gumdi. From this nice village a short climb to Dhangarchol facing views of Ganesh and Manaslu range and then downhill to Phul-Kharka for overnight camp.

Today’s walk lead down south to low warm areas back to paddy farm field and encountering more villages. As walk head to Dansing village and past Su Bhanjyang, then reaching a large village of Hatiyakot. From here to Chisapani and downhill to Ankhu Khola (stream) a short climb towards Jyamrung Danda, a high ridge, on reaching atop with short descend to overnight camp at Chap Bhanjyang.

From this nice farm village of Chap Bhanjyang, our last day walk of the adventure leads towards semi-tropical warm country, heading past farm villages of Gola and Murli Bhanjyang area. As walk finally comes to an end on reaching Dhading Besi a headquarter town of Dhading area, enjoy the last overnight in the comfort of nice hotels or lodge.

Morning after breakfast an exciting drive to Kathmandu, where journey follows through farm villages and towns to reach on the main Kathmandu and Pokhara Highway. On crossing a bridge to other side of Trisuli River at Maleku village, as drive continues on winding uphill to Kathmandu valley and the city.

On arrival in the heart of Kathmandu, transfer to your hotels with rest of the day free to relax or for leisure activities. 

We have reserved a free day in Kathmandu, to enjoy individual activities like shopping souvenirs, for interested people can join in for another exciting tour around places of great historical and cultural interest.

Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after a memorable and fabulous adventure Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trekking around amazing Nepal Himalaya.
