Island Peak towers high at 6,189 m / 20,305 feet, surrounded by an array of giant and massive mountain ranges. Island Peak is placed in the middle of Imjatse valley, hence it is also called Imjatse Himal due to its location.
 
Island Peak-Imjatse Himal, a popular trekking peak due to its ease of access not far from the main trail. Every season great number of trekkers and mountaineers visit Imjatse valley for the climb to the summit of Island Peak.  
 
A stunning looking peak, close to Mt. Lhotse and Nuptse situated a mere distance south of Mt. Everest. The Climbing grade as ‘PD’ + ‘Per Difficule’ the classification comes from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Systems. A straightforward climb to the summit encountering some technical difficulty, climb on ice and snow with few rocky sections.

Adventure to Island Peak-Imjatse Himal Trek & Climb starts from Kathmandu taking a short scenic flight to Lukla. A popular Sherpa town where most treks and climb around the Khumbu area begins and ends, due to its small airstrip. 
 
Trek from Lukla heading towards Dudh Kosi River valley and gorge following through lovely Sherpa villages lined with prayer walls. Walk approach to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, listed in world heritage sites as one of the world's highest parks. Walk follows the river bed within a cool shade of coniferous lined with tall rhododendron, oaks, and pine trees.
 
On crossing a high bridge, climb on winding uphill to the famous Namche Bazaar the major hub of Khumbu Sherpa. As well as trekkers where one can find various facilities required for local villagers and outside visitors. A perfect height for acclimatization day and for a short hike to scenic hills to catch the best view of Everest. From Namche, Bazaar adventure continues on a scenic trail facing lovely views of snow peaks with Everest and majestic Ama Dablam.
 
Walk into beautiful woods with a climb to scenic Tengboche and the magnificent Monastery, surrounded by an array of high snow peaks. A wonderful scenic place facing views towards Mt. Everest with a range of peaks, and enjoy a tour of the impressive monastery. From Tengboche adventure continues into the arid and barren country, as walk heads closer to mountain wilderness. 
 
The adventure leads through Pangboche village and to sheer windswept terrain towards Pheriche valley, the route heads higher towards Everest base camp. The walk with a short climb over moraine, ice, and glaciers past Lobuche and Gorakshep settlements, then reaching our first highlight. Enjoy the dramatic scenery standing beneath the world's highest Mt. Everest within remorseless fields of ice and glaciers.
 
After a glorious experience, the next adventure takes you to the highest spot of the trek on top of Kalapathar. A rocky hill offers the closest panorama of Everest with an array of giant peaks that encircles this high hilltop. Visiting Everest base camp and Kalapathar Hill, the best exercise and a good way for acclimatization before the Island Peak climb.
 
From Gorakshep on completing our first highlight of the adventure, then towards our main goal, climb to Island Peak. Walk on the main trail, then our route diverts towards Imjatse valley where Island Peak is located beyond Dingboche and Chukung settlements.
 
The route towards the Island Peak base camp leads to a remote isolated corner of Imjatse Valley within moraine, ice, and snow. Having a rest day at base camp with time for practice climbing on ice and rocks, before the final ascent.
 
Most trekkers reach the summit of Island Peak from base camp, but Epic Adventures makes the climb more interesting. Adding a day setting High Camp, which provides easy assist for a safe successful climb to the top of Island Peak.  
 
From the base, camp climb leads beneath the towering southeast face of Island Peak to establish a high camp. The adventure begins with a steep haul over an icy ledge, as a strenuous climb continues on a snowy slope to the summit top. After achieving our major goal and highlight, facing a spectacular panorama of Snow Mountains that encircles you on top. Feeling on top of the world and in high spirit descent is made on the same safe route. Return journey downhill on a scenic route towards Lukla, as walk leads past Dingboche, Pangboche, and Tengboche towards Namche Bazaar. After Namche walk follows Dudh Kosi River for short while and then with the last climb to Lukla. From Lukla a sweeping flight back to Kathmandu, after a most memorable experience on Island Peak-Imjatse Himal Trek & Climb.

Best seasons for Island Peak-Imjatse Himal Trek & Climb:
Island Peak-Imjatse Himal Trek & Climb, the best time is spring from March to May and autumn to pre-winter from mid-September to November till pre-December month. 
 
Springtime from March to May is one of the most favorable seasons, most days are fine and clear for views and pleasant walks. The afternoon can get cloudy with chances of rain sometimes, and snow above 3,000 m high. Morning and late afternoon till night time can be cold on higher areas but days with longer sun-light hours. 
 
The next best time in autumn and pre-winter is from mid-September to early December, where days are crystal clear for views and walks. Days are much shorter with sun-light hours, can be freezing cold in the morning, late afternoon, and nighttime around the higher area from above 2, 800 m, can expect snow sometimes.

Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse share the same base camp Mt. Lhotse stands as the world’s 4th highest at 8,516 m / 27, 940 feet.
The world's highest mountain is now officially a little higher. After years of debate, China and Nepal finally agreed on a precise elevation for Mount Everest. The new agreed height of 8,848.86 meters / 29,031.69 feet was announced at a virtual ceremony. Similarly, the new height of Kalapathar views top hill revised from early 5,545 m to 5,643 m / 18,514 feet high.

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.

Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for short scenic flight to Lukla, a smaller model aircraft (Twin Otter or Dornier) enjoy 30 minutes flight overlooking Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest.

On landing at Lukla small airstrip named Tenzing - Hillary airport, from Lukla few hour walks downhill past Sherpa farm villages with views of Kwangde and Kusum Khanguru peaks. After a pleasant first day walk then reach Phakding village for overnight stop in a nice local lodge close to glacial Dudh Kosi River.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast as this will be a long day to Namche Bazaar, walk starts on gradual path, following the river upstream crossing bridges then enter Sagarmatha National Park near Monjo village.

Sagarmatha a Nepalese name for Everest, the Sherpa call Chomolungma in both languages means 'a Great Mother' from here a pleasant walk on a river bed with climb for some hour within forest lined with rhododendron and pine trees facing lovely views of snow peaks, as walk takes you to Namche Bazaar for two overnight stops. A rest day at Namche Bazaar a perfect height for acclimatization at 3,440 m high important to spend extra nights at this altitude, before heading higher areas. At Namche to support acclimatization taka a short scenic hike above Namche for grand views of Everest and other high peaks.

Rest of the day relax and take a stroll on the streets of Namche an interesting place to browse around, especially on Saturday Market which is held once a week.

As you head to Dhole from Namche Bazaar, you will pass through beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine. You will ascend on a winding trail from Namche through many villages and Mani walls. After reaching Phortse Thanga, you will make a steep ascent alongside the gorge of Dudh Koshi River to reach Dhole. Overnight in Dhole.

Trekking for about 4 hours leads you to the stunning valley of Gokyo. In order to get to the excellent valley of Gokyo and relish the beauty of its deep blue lakes, you will need to climb over the ridges until you reach the end point of Ngozumpa Glacier Finally, you will climb on the terminal moraine of Ngozumpa Glacier, and be passing by two Gokyo lakes, you will arrive at the third lake and reach Gokyo village. Overnight in Gokyo.

For a better view of the Gokyo valley and its tranquil lakes, you will climb up to Gokyo Ri (5360m). From the top of Gokyo Ri, you will get an unreal view of the high Himalayas, including Cho Oyu (8188m), Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), and many others along with a view of the massive Ngozumpa Glacier. Later, you will hike back to Gokyo village and explore the quaint village or may be spending some time around the turquoise Gokyo Lake. Overnight in Gokyo.

Leaving the enchanting Gokyo valley behind, you will head towards Thangnak today. The trek can be a little challenging as you will need to walk through Ngozumpa Glacier to until you reach Dragnag. Climb down the glacier slowly and carefully. From Dragnag, ascend on the dry and rocky terrain to reach Thangnak. Enjoy the amazing 360 degree view of the mountains from Thangnak. Overnight in Thangnak.

You will be required to be very precise and patience today as you head towards Cho La Pass (5420m), one of the three high passes of the Everest Region. To climb to the top of Cho La, you will ascend on a slippery path covered in snow and ice, but the 360 degree view of the Everest Himalayas seen from the top of the pass proves to be worth the effort.  You will need to be clear while descending the pass as well. Later, you will make a steep descent to Dingboche via Dzongla and Dughla. Overnight in Dingboche.

Today you will head towards Chhukhung on a stony path through the rocky and barren hills. You will start your day early today as you have a tough journey ahead. From Chhukhung to Island Peak Base Camp, the trail ascends on the moraines of various glaciers situated on either side of Imja Khola. The trail is mostly frozen and slippery, so it is recommended to walk slowly and carefully. Continuous ascending from Island Peak Base Camp in early dawn will take you to the High Camp. After you reach High Camp, you will head to the summit. You will climb through the snow-covered ridges and walk carefully on crevasses until you reach the summit of Island Peak (6189m). A glorious vista of the highest mountains in the world surrounds you as you stand proudly on top of Island Peak (6189m).  Afterward, you will descend all the way back to the base camp for the overnight stay.

Leaving behind the mighty Island Peak (6189m) from its base camp, first you will directly head towards Chhukhung, and afterward, you will move along the trails of Imja Khola that take you to the monastery of Dingboche. For the last day of your trek, you will retrace your way from Namche Bazaar to Lukla.
