Overview

Mardi Himal Trekking, takes you around the southern hills of massive Annapurna Himalaya, away from main trails and villages. In the hidden region of Mardi Himal, early pioneers, explorers discovered this scenic land and named as the ‘Other Sanctuary’. A mere aerial distance from Annapurna Sanctuary is separated by a high rocky cliff edge and deep gorge of Modi River.

Mardi Himal Trekking region was almost forgotten only a few groups of trekkers seldom ventured, but at present getting more attention. Due to its serene location and off the beaten tracks, following a high scenic ridge to Mardi Himal base camp. Where walk follows a quiet tranquil path into deep coniferous forest of tall rhododendron and pine trees. In spring the forest is bright, lively when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially rhododendron the national flower of Nepal.

An enjoyable trek around isolated corners of a few days away from the main villages and yet close to the snow line. Where you will be standing right beneath the towering South Face of Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish Tail peak.

Epic Adventurers to Mardi Himal Trekking starts from the beautiful city Pokhara located on a valley surrounded by rolling green hills. A city blessed with the natural beauty of the snow mountain range of Annapurna Himalaya and beautiful lakes.

A short drive to starting point of the adventure, as the walk takes you past nice villages and farmland. As route follows uphill into the forest towards a scenic plateau and a grazing field with many good lodges. This lovely spot called Australian Camp or Thulo Kharka offers a grand panorama of the Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya range.

The adventure continues to Potana a small settlement amidst forest surroundings facing excellent views of Annapurna and Machhapuchare Himal.
From here walk follows uphill and then our route diverts from the main trail and the last village of Deurali. Then heading towards Mardi Himal base camp, as walk head through dense forest climbing towards the higher ground at High Camp.

At High Camp spending an extra day for a hike to Mardi Himal base camp, close to the majestic peak of Machhapuchare. Mardi Himal is a trekking peak at 5,587 m / 18,330 feet, separated from a southwest col of Machhapuchare Himal.

After a great moment standing on the highest spot 4,500 m / 14,850 feet at Mardi Himal base. Facing an incredible panorama of Snow Mountains of Annapurna Himalaya with closest views of Mt. Machhapuchare, the famous Fish-Tail peak.

On achieving our main highlight and reaching the final destination Mardi Himal base, return journey downhill into the forest. Finally, the walk ends on the foothill of Annapurna and Mardi Himal around farm village, and then a short drive to Pokhara.

Spectacular Mountain Scenery

Mardi Himal Trek is one of the most serene and scenic treks I’ve done. The trail was peaceful with very few trekkers, allowing us to enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas in solitude. The company’s organization was flawless, and the guide was very professional. The sunrise views over the Annapurna range from Mardi Himal Base Camp were breathtaking. It’s the perfect trek for those seeking tranquility and epic mountain views
