Trek Route overview

The Mardi Himal Trek typically takes 5 -10 days to complete. The highest point is Base Camp with an altitude of 4500m.

We start the trek from the beautiful city of Pokhara, also known as the city of lakes. On the first day of the trek, we will drive to Kande from Pokhara and hike to Forest Camp for an overnight stay. It offers a panoramic view of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. 

The trek continues to low camp on the second day, and we stay there overnight. Likewise, on the third day after breakfast, we will head to High camp and stay overnight, and the next day we will head to Mardi Himal Base camp (4500m) for an overnight stay.

The great moment at Mardi Base Camp offers an amazing view of the Annapurna ranges. You can see Mt. Machhapuchhre closely, which gives you a lifetime experience. Then, you can return to Badal Danda for a night's stay. The next day, after breakfast, hike to Siding village and have lunch, then drive to Pokhara for an overnight stay.

The following day, we will drive or fly to Kathmandu and check into the hotel where we will stay. The last day of the trek to say have a safe journey (departure time).

Permits and Regulations for Mardi Himal Trek

Two permits are compulsory during the trek: Annapurna Conservation Area permits (ACAP) and Trekker's Information Management System (TIMS) card. So, the ACAP helps fund conservation areas to ensure the safety of the environment, forests, and all the flora and fauna. Likewise, the TIMS card helps us to track the trekkers for safety purposes during the trek.

      From Pokhara, our journey starts with an exciting one-and-a-half-hour drive to Kande (1720m), and the trek starts from here with beautiful walks inside the forest to a wonderful spot called Australian camp.       After a wonderful breakfast in the morning, we start our trip toward to Forest Camp that will take about 6-7 hours of long walk. From here, the upward hike continues on the stone pave trail till Deurali.


      After reaching Deurali we pass through dense forest following the path to reach our next destination. The trail enters a quiet jungle of oak trees, maples, rhododendrons etc. After a long hike under the shades of trees and chirping of birds, we will reach our final destination Forest Camp where we spend our night.

      After a pleasant overnight at Low Camp, today’s walk takes you to High Camp before Mardi Himal.       Last day around the high hills, as morning walk heads to long descend through dens woodland, with few short ups and gradual section to encounter which takes 3 hours. As downhill continues till you reach at the bottom of a hill around farm country via Sidding drive.


      From Siding we start short walk to catch a vehicle for 1.5 hour interesting drive to Pokhara, Upon reaching Pokhara we transfer you to your hotel rooms. Afternoon is free for individual activities around this beautiful location, one can join for Para Gliding, time permitting or take a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake.
