Annapurna Panorama Hiking, a blissful short adventure of two days facing daily views of the massive Annapurna Himalaya Mountain range. An enjoyable walk around traditional farm villages of Gurung, the hill tribes of Annapurna Himalaya interwoven to Buddhism religion.

The area of hiking takes you to the suburb of beautiful Pokhara valley, begins with a short drive to Dhampus village. Located on a high ridge above Pokhara valley, a moderate size farm village in the shade of Annapurna Himalaya.
At Dhampus village enjoy the grand panorama of Annapurna, Lamjung, and Manaslu range of peaks includes a view of Dhaulagiri. The most fascinating spot overlooking majestic towering Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish-Tail peak, an unclimbed mountain dominates the skyline.

From Dhampus start walk following a high ridge along with views of Annapurna Himalayan peaks on a serene path. The walk takes you within a lovely cool forest on a gradual uphill path, and then an hour climb to Australian Camp. 

Located above Dhampus village, the highest point at 2,050 m high, offers an incredible panorama of the Annapurna Himalayan range.   

Australian Camp, the original name is Thulo-Kharka means a large pasture for local villagers’ cattle grazing field. This scenic place with some nice lodges for travelers to stay overnights, amidst beautiful woodland. 

Enjoy the fresh morning panorama of the wide Annapurna Himalaya range along with stunning sunrise views. After an enjoyable moment around the high hills of Annapurna, a pleasant downhill through cool forest to a road-head. 

Walk completes with a short exciting drive back to Kathmandu, after a marvelous time on Annapurna Panorama Hiking.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Annapurna Panorama Hiking begins from Pokhara

Annapurna Panorama Hiking begins from lovely scenic city Pokhara, a leading tourist spot of Nepal, and in the whole Himalaya. Depart from the hotel for a few hour exciting drive that leads you outskirt of Pokhara city and the valley.

A scenic drive facing outmost views of Annapurna Himalaya range, on reaching the foot of the hill at Phedi. Drive leads on winding uphill through lovely farm villages towards Dhampus, a nice Gurung village situated on a high ridge.  

Dhampus village offers a grand panorama of Annapurna Himalaya along with the Manaslu and Dhaulagiri mountain range. From here the walk starts on gradual ups through lovely forest and then climb for an hour to Australian Camp.

Australian Camp is located on a small wide high plateau, actually a summer grazing field for local villagers' cattle. The place originally called Thulo-Kharka, in the early 1980’s Australian expeditions to Mt. Annapurna-I camped on this spot.

Hence the name Australian Camp was tagged to this day, a beautiful scenic place with nice lodges for an overnight stop. On checking into your rooms with time for a short stroll or just relax and marvel at the surrounding magnificent scenery.  One hour drive , 3 hour walk. Overnight in Australian camp/ Dhampus village.

Day 2 : Our last day of hiking

Our last day of hiking, early morning before breakfast enjoy striking sunrise over an array of peaks. Then having breakfast along with scenic views of Annapurna mountain range, last day walk downhill to a road-head at Kande village / Phedi. From the main Pokhara and Baglung highway an hour drive to end our marvelous Annapurna Panorama at beautiful Pokhara city. Overnight in Pokhara in your hotel.
