Senior Trekking Guide
Mr. Shyam Nepal is one of the most experienced and key members of the Epic Adventures Nepal guiding team. He began working in trekking in 2009 and has since built more than 17 years of practical experience guiding and supporting travelers across the Himalayas.
Over the course of his career, Shyam has trekked or guided on approximately 95% of Nepal’s established trekking routes, giving him exceptionally broad first-hand knowledge of the country’s mountain regions. His experience covers both popular and remote trekking areas, and he has developed a deep understanding of Nepal’s trail networks, terrain, altitude conditions, local communities, cultures, accommodation, transport, and day-to-day trekking logistics.
While Nepal is his primary area of specialization, Shyam also has substantial experience with trekking and adventure travel in India and Tibet. This wider Himalayan experience allows him to work confidently across different landscapes, cultures, travel systems, and mountain environments.
Shyam’s role extends well beyond route guidance. His long field experience helps him assess trail conditions, manage practical challenges, support acclimatization and daily trekking arrangements, and assist travelers throughout demanding journeys. He also helps guests understand the destinations they visit by sharing his knowledge of local traditions, regional lifestyles, and Himalayan communities.
Known for his calm, attentive, and responsible approach, Shyam places strong emphasis on trekker safety, clear communication, responsible guiding, and guest care. His extensive knowledge of Nepal’s trekking routes, combined with his experience in India and Tibet, makes him an important part of Epic Adventures Nepal’s trekking operations and a trusted senior guide for both classic and remote Himalayan journeys.
