‘Adventure to stunning Yala peak around scenic Langtang valley’
Epic Adventures offers Yala Peak Trek & Climb, a wonderful adventure to Langtang Himal, located around Central Himal. An exciting climb where all interested trekkers can join on this climb to Yala Peak of less technical effort.

Yala Peak at 5,732 m / 18,806 feet, situated on the far remote pockets eastern rim of Langtang valley. The shortest climbing adventure of fewer than two weeks duration, as well as a climb of least technical difficulties. However, climbers require good climbing gear for one safety and to enjoy the climb of a lifetime experience.

The climbing grade is ‘F’ which means “Facial Easy” the classification comes from the French / Swiss Alpine Climbing System. Yala peak, leads to straightforward climb, facing ice, glaciers, and snowy slopes of least technical effort to negotiate.  

A friendly peak to climb offers stunning scenery of Langtang Himal as far as Ganesh and Manaslu in the west. Adventure to Yala Peak Trek & Climb starts with an interesting overland journey from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, starting point of the trek. Located around Rasuwa district and Langtang Himal, north of Kathmandu valley the closest mountain range from the capital city. 

The walk begins following an uphill trail through farmlands and villages and then into a river gorge covered in dense forest. A pleasant trek within tall rhododendron, pine, and fir trees, as walk progress and then enter a scenic Langtang valley. 

A beautiful country with a green wide field where Kyanjin, a nice settlement located amidst high mountain surroundings. Wonderful place to spend an extra day to explore its viewpoints for a close look at Langtang Himal. 

From Kyanjin onward our true adventure begins heading further northeast of Langtang valley towards Yala Peak base camp. On reaching the base of Yala Peak, preparation and getting organized for next early morning final climb to the summit.

Start for the big day early morning before the crack of dawn, following our expert guide climb on snowy slope ridge. A long haul to the top of Yala Peak summit, where stunning views await you, on reaching the highest point. 

Enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the snow mountain range that surrounds you on top overlooking all of Langtang and Jugal Himal peaks. The view extends towards peaks in Tibet across the border as far to Ganesh Himal, truly a mesmerizing moment.

After a great feat and completing our main goal and highlight descend back to base camp, for onward journey. Return trek on the same scenic and interesting route to Syabrubesi for the last overnight stop around the Langtang Himal area.

Best seasons for Yala Peak Trek & Climb:
For Yala Peak Trek & Climb, the best is in spring from March to May and autumn to pre-winter from mid-September to November month.
Springtime from March to May is one of the most favorable seasons, most days are fine and clear for views and pleasant walks. The afternoon can get cloudy with chances of rain sometimes, chances of snowfall above 2,000 m high. Morning and late afternoon till night time can be cold on higher areas but days with longer sun-light hours. Springtime is lively with wildflowers in full blooming seasons, especially the rhododendron of different species and colors.

The next best time in autumn is from September to November, where days are crystal clear for views and walks. Days are much shorter with sun-light hours, can be very cold in the morning, late afternoon, and nighttime around the higher area from above 1,900 m, can get snowed sometimes.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek and climb briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek and climb, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.

Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner.

Day 2 : Tour of Kathmandu UNESCO heritage sites of great interest.

A day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day adventure to Yala Peak Trek & Climb.

Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.

Start our adventure with interesting drive towards Langtang Himal area, journey takes you past lovely farm villages and town, from warm climate of Trisuli Bazaar to cooler Himalaya hills at Dhunche, the headquarter town of Rasuwa district and the entrance of Langtang National Park, the first mountainous park of Nepal established in the mid-1970. Famous for rare flora / fauna and habitat of endangered Red Panda. From Dhunche on downhill to Syabrubesi village for first overnight stop around Langtang Himal area.

Day 4 : Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350 m - 06 hrs.

Morning having good breakfast, start the first walk of the adventure heading towards a bridge, and then route climbs over farm hills and forested area to reach a small place River side with few smaller huts serving as tea house and shops. Here for short refreshing break, and then continue trek entering cool shaded forest of tall rhododendron, oaks, pines, magnolia and fir trees with some Bamboo. Slowly walk comes to an end on reaching a small clearing at Lama Hotel, situated within beautiful forest and by the raging Langtang Khola / River.

Lama Hotel with few good simple lodges to offer for the trekkers, check into one of its nice cosy lodge for overnight stop.

Day 5 : Trek to Langtang village 3, 307 m-06 hrs.

Morning starts with slow climb into dense tree lines following the river gorge upstream, past few small settlements and cattle herder temporary shelters to Ghoretabela. A lovely spot amidst forest surroundings, a place with few lodges and restaurants, a perfect place for lunch break. 

After Ghoretabela, afternoon walk into forested path with gradual up and crossing streams to reach at Langtang Village for overnight stop. Langtang village was badly damaged and many life was lost from the big Earthquake of April and May 2015 that shook mid-east and west Nepal.

The whole village was wiped out, slowly over the years this nice place is getting back to normal as it was before. Check into one of its fine lodge, afternoon free for leisure walk around the village, here you can witness memorials of local and trekkers who lost their life from the earthquake.

Day 6 : Trek to Kyanjin 3, 800 m- 04 hrs

Morning from Langtang village a short climb then heading past some prayer walls and monuments, as walk enters a scenic Langtang valley surrounded by array of high snow mountain range of Langtang Himal, as you reach overnight halt at Kyanjin as well for lunch, a lovely spot located in the heart of Langtang Valley.

Afternoon free to relax and marvel the magnificent scenery that encircles the Lovely spot of Kyanjin and the valley.

Day 7 : Rest-Day for acclimatization and hike.

A full free day and free packing, morning after breakfast enjoy hike up the hill for best views of Langtang Himal group of peaks. The top of Kyanjin-Ri and Tserko-Ri offers excellent panorama of Ganesh Himal (7,405 m), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), Ghengu Liru (Langtang- II 6,571 m) and Kim shun (6,745 m) withShalbachum (6,918 m), Chimsedang, Naya-Kanga / Ganja Chuli (5,846 m), and as far towards Gangchenpo, Tillman’s Fluted Peak. View extends further east to Jugal Himal and ends to Dorje Lakpa (6,980 m). Includes peaks across the border of Tibet, as Langtang Himal forms the great barrier of Nepal and Tibet / China. Rest of the afternoon relax and explore around the village and its small monastery and the Cheese factory processed from the product of local Yak milk.

Day 8 : Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp 4,400 m / 14,435 feet - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant and enjoyable time at Kyanjin, from here towards our final highlights of the adventure. Following a faint path to reach the base of Yala Peak, walks leads east on a wide Langtang valley. After a scenic trek then reaching at the Yala Peak base camp for first overnight stop in tented camp.

The camp is set near a rocky glacier on a flat ground meadow beneath Yala Peak at 4,400 m. From the camp enjoy grand views of Gangchenpo, Naya Kanga, Tserko-Ri, Yala peak and others peaks that surrounds the base camp.

Day 9 : Rest day preparation for the climb.

Another free day for acclimatization as well preparation for the climb, relax and enjoy the surrounding views of close peaks. At base with time for practice exercise for next early climb, the day to check climbing gear like crampon and use of ice-axe.

Day 10 : Climb Yala Summit 5500 m / 18,806 feet and descend to base camp.

Start the adventure early morning before dawn, then follow the guide heading uphill crossing streams and glaciers. As climb gets steeper walking on snow slopes along a ridge line all the way to the top of Yala Peak summit.

On reaching the highest point of the trek and climb, enjoy breathtaking panorama of Langtang Himal series of peaks with Mt. Shisapangma across the border in Tibet side. View extends towards east overlooking peaks of Jugal Himal with Dorje Lakpa, Gangchenpo and Naya Kanga or Ganja-La peak in the south direction. 

After a triumph on top Yala Peak facing fantastic view, descent on the same safe route back to base camp on completing a successful day climb.

Day 11 : Return to Kyanjin Gompa 3870m-05 hrs.

After a great successful adventure on top Yala Peak, clear the base camp and collecting all the garbage to dispose on designated sites. Walk back to Kyanjin on scenic path around the wide Langtang valley then reach at Kyanjin in the comfort of nice lovely lodge for overnight stop.

Day 12 : Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350 m - 06 hrs.

From Kyanjin retrace the journey back to Lama Hotel, a long downhill into dense tree lines to reach overnight stop at Lama Hotel, after a wonderful time on high scenic Langtang valley at Kyanjin.

Day 13 : Trek to Syabrubesi -05 hrs.

After pleasant overnight at Lama Hotel, with the sound of river, morning on the same route all the way downhill to Syabrubesi village for last overnight around Langtang Himal area and Rasuwa district

Day 14 : Drive to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi - 06 hrs.

After an exciting time around Langtang Valley with great climb on top Yala Peak morning after breakfast an interesting drive to Kathmandu, enjoy the drive heading downhill on winding road through farm villages and past Nuwakott area, and then few hour drives from the town of Trisuli Bazaar reaches you to Kathmandu, and then back to your hotel. 

Day 16 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after a memorable experience and great adventure on Yala Peak Trek and Climb around beautiful Langtang Valley and amazing Nepal Himalayas.
