On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.
Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner.
A day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day adventure to Rolwaling Valley & Tashi Lapcha-La Pass Trekking.
Our exciting adventure starts with an exciting drive towards Himalayan mid-hills and then journey heads through nice Charikot and Dolakha town to reach the starting point of the trek at Gongar. A rural farm village close to Tama Kosi River, with flows from the glacier of Mt. Gaurishankar and mountains that borders Nepal and Tibet. Overnight in tented camp by Tama Kosi River with time to enjoy short walk this lovely spot.
Morning after breakfast short walk to cross a bridge over Tama Kosi River within a gorge at place called Chetchet, facing views of beautiful waterfalls. From here climb towards cooler hills on leaving low warm area of paddy farm fields.
Climb continues for few hour then on pleasant path to Simi-Gaon village for overnight stop, around this nice hill village of Sherpa tribe, with well-tended farm terraces that grows corns, potatoes, wheat, barley and millets, afternoon at leisure visit the old monastery with grand view of Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung-Tse peak.
From this nice village, on clearing the camp site after a good breakfast, morning begins with climb past farm terraces and through lovely forest of rhododendron, oaks, magnolia, and pine trees. As walk continues uphill and then short descend past grazing fields with temporary shelter of shades and huts then reaching a small place called Gyalche. From here amidst dense forest, and then an hour walk takes you down to overnight camp at Dovan, situated by the fast flowing stream.
Dovan a small settlement with few simple huts serves as tea-house and shops, rest of the afternoon at leisure before dinner time.
After a pleasant overnight with the sound of a river, morning walks starts with climb into a forest, as route winds up to Nyimare and Ramding a small farm village. Having short stop, continue walk as climb leads past forested area where tree lines fades for small bush as walk leads to Beding village for overnight camp.
Beding village highly populated by Sherpa as well the last permanent village of Rolwaling Valley before Thame around Khumbu area. The village situated on a high hill above the river with an old monastery and a primary school built by Hillary Foundation.
At Beding rest day a perfect place and height for acclimatization before heading higher region towards Tashi Lapcha-La Pass. For better acclimatization short climb to a view point hill for better views of Jugal Himal range dominated by towering Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung Tse, the closest peaks that shadows the Rolwaling valley.
From Beding leaving the last village, adventure leads towards an open wide beautiful Rolwaling valley, today a short walk of few hour trek to Na-Gaon a temporary settlement of Yak herder. As walk progress enjoy grand views Mt. Gaurishankar 7,145 m and Melung Tse also called Jobo Garee peak at 7,181 m. On reaching Na-Gaon facing close view of Ramdung-Go 5,925 m, Chukyima-Go 6,259 m and Tabayabyum 5,558 m with Yalung-RI peak 5,630 m.
At Na-Gaon for lunch and overnight stop, this small settlement located on a wide Rolwaling valley extends further south-east and north close to high mountains that surrounds the area.
On leaving the last human settlement Na-Gaon, adventure from here takes you to complete isolation in the heart of mountain wilderness. As walk starts towards end of Rolwaling Valley rim cross a small icy stream towards Yersa at Sangma, the very last temporary shelters of Yak herders. After crossing a small wooden bridge climb leads to a dune of rocks, traversing steeply up to reach a terminal moraine, close towards a dam of Tsho Rolpa a large glacial lake.
This Lake also called as Cho or Tsho Pokhari, ‘Tsho’ a Tibetan name similar to Sherpa language. Overnight camp is set on the south side of Tsho Rolpa around Kabuk area, after getting organized in the camp rest of the afternoon enjoy relaxing and marvel the great views of Tsoboje 6,689 m and Dragker-Go peaks 6,793 m with array of snow-mountains that surrounds this isolated camp.
From the camp at Kabuk around Tsho Rolpo Lake, walk leads further east with climb on rocky glacier to reach next overnight camp right beneath Drolambau ice-fall. As climb continues heading towards the lowest point of icefall and then up to the point reaching over Drolambau glacier.
Taking precaution, danger of rock-falls which occur sometimes during the day, the middle moraine provides a route up to a glacier. Then finding a suitable level ground to set our camp at the base of Tashi Lapcha-La Pass. The area surrounded by mountains and high rocky wind-blown cliff.
Rest of the afternoon preparation for next early morning climb to cross Amphu Lapcha-La.
Today the Big Day! After having early breakfast and clearing the camp, adventure leads to steep climb following a glacial faint path for an hour or more reaching a spur. Which provides an access to our route over the glacier, here our guides will fix ropes, as well making ledges to make the climb easier for all members and porters. Although the route is of less technical difficulty, precaution is necessary, then head for the final haul up taking more than four hours then reach on top of Tashi Lapcha-La pass. The highest point of the adventure at 5,755 m high, the pass is festooned with Buddhist prayer flags and rock cairns.
From the top with refreshing stop, enjoy the surrounding dramatic scenery of jagged mountain range as far towards Khumbu Himal in the east.
After a pleasant refreshing break, a long descend takes you at the bottom of the pass around Khumbu area, overnight camp is set at a small place called Ngole a Yak herder camp.
After a hard tiring climb and descend of previous day, from here the walk is easier on wide trail around the pasture field. Morning begins with downhill on an open valley on reaching Khumbu area of Everest region.
Walk continues on pleasant gradual path reaching a glacial pond of Pachermo-Tsho, from here walk leads further on gradual path to a Tengpo for overnight camp, around the area of Yak herder temporary settlement.
From here onward walk leads to human settlement and villages after several days in complete isolation of mountain wilderness. A pleasant trek leads downhill to Thame village, located on the west end of Khumbu area.
From here onward overnight in the comfort of nice local lodge, on reaching at Thame transfer into a nice small simple lodge for overnight halt.
Rest of the afternoon enjoy walk around Thame village, and visit the oldest monastery of Khumbu and Everest region. Thame situated on route to Tibet and towards Gokyo valley via high Renjo-La Pass.
Today a pleasant walk to Namche, an affluent rich Sherpa town and an important trading center with a weekly Saturday market, fresh foodstuffs are brought up from lower villages to barter or sell.
Walk leads east from Thame with short down to a bridge over Bhote Kosi River, from the bridge climb to reach a Thamo. A lovely village with series of prayer walls, from here onward back into green alpine forest on a gentle winding path. After few hour of nice pleasant walk reaching at famous Namche Bazaar for overnight stop before Lukla.
Namche one of the largest village a size of a town, a place with well-stocked stores and shops with many good restaurants, café’, banks and ATM facilities. Includes view of Kwangde and Tharmasarku.
The last final day walk of the adventure, from Namche downhill to Dudh Kosi River, walk on the river bed to Jorsalle village to cross a bridge with short climb to National Park entrance. From here walk to Monjo village, after a short break continue walk crossing a bridge. As route follows to Phakding and then few hours walk to Lukla with few ups and downhill. An hour climb leads to Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest region.
Morning as per the flight time walk to Lukla or Tenzing & Hillary airport, and then board in a small aircraft for exciting scenic flight to land at Kathmandu airport, and back within hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu. On checking into your hotel rooms, rest of the day free at leisure.
Spare day for contingency in case of flight delay and cancellation at Lukla, can happens sometimes due to unfavorable weather condition. Which is quite normal around Himalaya, as weather can be unpredictable even in best time of the seasons. If all goes well, according to the itinerary days, enjoy this free day for individual activities or join in for another exciting sightseeing tour of other interesting places like Patan and Bhaktapur worth a visit.
Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after an exciting and memorable adventure on Rolwaling Valley & Tashi Lapcha-La Pass Trekking around amazing Nepal.
