On this great scenic adventure, trekkers will have the opportunity to enjoy both the picturesque region of Langtang and the Jugal Himal range.

Langtang Himal is the nearest mountain range from the capital, situated a mere aerial distance of 32 km, north of Kathmandu. Which extends as far towards the old Trans Himalaya Salt Trade Route of Nepal-Tibet / China border.
 
The first part of the adventure leads to beautiful Langtang valley with a long interesting drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi village. The starting point of the trek, located within Rasuwa district around Langtang Himalaya range and close to Ganesh Himal. 

The adventure takes you around lovely Tamang farm villages, the indigenous tribes of Langtang and Central Himalaya are interwoven to Buddhism religion. 

The area around Rasuwa and Helambu falls within Langtang National Park, established in 1976 as Nepal's first Himalayan national park. A beautiful country besides stunning scenery of snow peaks, enriched with flora and fauna where rare endangered Res Panda dwells.

In springtime, the hills are bright and lively, with wildflowers in seasonal bloom with various species of rhododendron flower.

The walk takes you into a lovely forest lined with rhododendron, oaks, pines, and magnolia, fir trees following the Langtang River upstream. The adventure continues with a climb through the nice village of Langtang, as the route leads higher tree lines drops to a short Himalayan bush. Then entering the beautiful and scenic Langtang Valley at Kyanjin, a lovely settlement with many good lodges for travelers.

Kyanjin at 3, 800 m high, situated in the heart of Langtang Himal surrounded by an array of towering snow peaks. At Kyanjin around this picturesque location, a perfect place for rest and acclimatization day, where you can explore to high viewpoints.

After a wonderful time at Kyanjin, our true final adventure begins heading south of the Langtang Valley rim. The climb leads to traverse over the highest point of the trek crossing Ganja-La Pass 5,122 m close to Naya-Kanga peak. 

Ganja-La, a less ventured pass often visited by only a few trekkers and adventurers once in a year seasonal-wise. Depending upon season and weather normally the pass is covered in snow, ice, as it is well hidden from sunlight. In between Naya-Kanga and Baden Powell peaks, which is named as a tribute to the founder of Scout. 

After much preparation using fixed ropes descend to another valley, and then on a gradual downhill with short ups to Tarke Ghyang. A lovely village, where houses are decorated with a wonderful carving of Tibetan design, Helambu is the home of the Hyalmo community. One of the few and small hill tribes of Nepal Himalaya, a nice place to explore the village. The native is called Hyalmo / Yolmo visit its interesting old monastery enriched with ancient artifacts of religious idols.

From Helambu main village of Tarke Gyang slowly walks comes to near-complete at Sermathang another lovely village of Helambu. Then ending the walk an exciting drive brings you to Kathmandu, after a memorable experience on Langtang Valley & Ganja-La Pass Trekking.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.

Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner. 

Day 2 : Tour of Kathmandu UNESCO heritage sites of great interest.

A day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day adventure to Langtang Valley & Ganja-La Pass Trekking.

Day 3 : Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft): 145 km/ 7 hrs

To avoid traffic, we will leave Kathmandu early in the morning to reach Sybrubensi from where we will begin our trekking. The drive to Syabrubesi will take you out of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city through winding roads by the hills filled with glimpses of the Himalayas. Overnight in Sybrubensi.

Day 4 : Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350 m - 06 hrs.

Morning having good breakfast, start the first walk of the adventure heading towards a bridge, and then route climbs over farm hills and forested area to reach a small place River side with few smaller huts serving as tea house and shops. Here for short refreshing break, and then continue trek entering cool shaded forest of tall rhododendron, oaks, pines, magnolia and fir trees with some Bamboo. Slowly walk comes to an end on reaching a small clearing at Lama Hotel, situated within beautiful forest and by the raging Langtang Khola / River.

Lama Hotel with few good simple lodges to offer for the trekkers, check into one its nice cosy lodge for overnight stop.

Day 5 : Trek to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6/7 hr

We will be accompanied by many waterfalls as we walk through lush meadows and mountainous landscapes. The path is dotted by many Gompas and settlements with a breathtaking view of the Langtang range. Most of what was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake has been slowly rebuilding in Langtang village. The village makes up for a brilliant photography spot. Overnight in Langtang.

Day 6 : Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 3-1/2 hr

Morning from Langtang village a short climb then heading past some prayer walls and monuments, as walk enters a scenic Langtang valley surrounded by array of high snow mountain range of Langtang Himal, as you reach overnight halt at Kyanjin as well for lunch, a lovely spot located in the heart of Langtang Valley.

Afternoon free to relax and marvel the magnificent scenery that encircles the Lovely spot of Kyanjin and the valley.

Day 7 : Excursion to Tsergo Ri (5033m/16,508 ft) and back to Kyanjin: 7/ 8 hrs

To acclimatize, we will spend our day hiking to Tserko Ri (4984m) and return to Kyanjin. This hike leads us through green pastures with herds of yaks scattered on them. We will be able to feel the thin air here, so a slow climb is advised. From atop Tserko Ri, we will be able to get a panoramic view of the Himalayas, including the Langtang range, Tserko Peak (5749m), Yala Peak (5500m), and the Dorje Himal range. This is a very good spot for taking some great pictures. We will then make our way back to Kyanjin to rest for the night.

Day 8 : Trek to Ganja La phedi (4300m/14,104 ft): 5-6 hr

After breakfast, we will make our way to Ganja La Phedi by crossing the Langtang River and entering a forested trail. Afterward, the trail throughout the day’s trek moves on stony terrain amid barren, rocky hills that contrast with the shiny white peaks on the backdrop. We then walk on the moraine of Kangja La Himal for a short while and arrive in Ganja La Phedi. Overnight in Ganja La Phedi.

Day 9 : Cross the Ganja La pass (5122m/16,800 ft) Trek to Keldang (4250m/13,940ft): 6/7 hr

Today is going to be a strenuous trek as Ganja La (5130m) is a difficult pass. Slowly but steadily we will make our way through rocky boulders covered in snow. We will also get to witness little streams of crystal clear water and the Ganja La Pass on a rocky glacier. From the pass, we will be able to get a beautiful view of the Himalayas and the surrounding landscape. From here, we move down to Keldang. Overnight in Keldang.

Day 10 : Trek to Yak Kharka (4000m/13,120ft): 5/6 hr

This trek will take us along a ridge at first, but later it passes through varying landscapes as we slowly lose altitude. We will be walking through the forest and many green pastures and grassland where we may see many animals grazing. There are no settlements en route excepts for a few temporary shelters of yak herders. Overnight in Yak Kharka.

Day 11 : Trek to Tarke Gyang(2,590m/8,497ft): 5/6 hrs

Today we walk through lush pastures, and as we descend, we can see a change in the landscape as the vegetation remarkably increases. We will descend through the forest enjoying the chirping of the birds and the hissing of the streams echoing in the silence of the dense forest. After a steep downhill trek, we will reach the Hyolmo village of Tarkeghyang, also famously known as Helambu. Overnight in Tarkeghyang.

Day 12 : Trek to Sermathang(2,610m/8,563ft): 3/4 hr

Today as we walk more, we will be crossing forests and Mani walls to Ghangyul from where you take on the flat trail through the forest to reach Sermathang. You will pass small monasteries on your way to Sermathang, giving you a feeling of calmness and scenic pleasure. Close to Kathmandu, the arrival of Sermathang also announces the nearing of city life. Overnight in Sermathang.

Day 13 : Trek to Malemchi Puul Bazaar: Drive to Kathmandu: 3/4 hrs trek/ 2 hr drive

This is our final day of trekking, and we will walk down many villages and monasteries to reach Melamchi Pul. From here, we drive back to Kathmandu leaving the Himalayas and the Tamang villages behind. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for a good rest before departure.

Day 14 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after a memorable and fabulous adventure at Annapurna Base Camp Trekking and around amazing Nepal.
