Our guide will pick you from the hotel for short drive to the hub of the city, and then short walk for a visit to Old Durbar Square steeped with ancient temples and palace with royal courtyard of Malla period to regime of late Shah Dynasty. The Malla Dynasty was the ruling Kshatriya dynasty of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal from 1201 to 1779 AD.
Places of interest around old Durbar Square:
Hanuman Dhoka or Durbar Square is the historic throne of the Nepalese Royalty. The square, furnished with old temples, royal palace, epitomizes the religion and cultural life of the people. This is the spot where late Kings of Nepal were crowned.
Taleju Temple built by King Mahendra Malla in 1,549 A.D.
Gigantic figure of Kal Bhairav, the God of Destruction.
Basantpur Durbar or Nautalle Durbar, built by King Prithivi Narayan Shah.

TEMPLE OF KUMARI (The Living Goddess):
The temple residence of the Living Goddess; Kumari, stands in the vicinity of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace: The building has many carved wooden balconies and window screens. It was built by Jaya Prakash Malla, the last Malla King of Kathmandu. The Kumari Goddess is also known as the virgin Goddess. She is chosen from the Newar tribe of Sakya caste and a virgin with no marks or injuries. When she achieves puberty she is replaced by another Kumari.
TOUR OF SWAYAMBHUNATH:
From Durbar Square a short drive west from the city takes you to famous landmark of Nepal the old Swayambhunath, a dome shaped Buddhist Stupa.
One of the world's most glories monuments, 2, 600 years old history also called "Monkey Temple" due to large number of monkey that dwells around. The stupa with a lofty conical spire topped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four sides are all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Swayambhunath stands 3 Km west of Kathmandu city, perched on a hillock above the valley. The hill is a mosaic of small Stupas and pagodas temples. Here one can enjoy grand view of Kathmandu city with the snow-capped mountain range towards north on a clear fine day.
PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE:
After a wonderful moment at Swayambhunath, a short drive to holy temple of Pashupatinath Temple. Situated 5 Km. east of Kathmandu on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple with two tiered golden pagoda roof and silver doors. This holy spot a center of annual pilgrimage on the day of Maha Shivaratri the birth anniversary of lord Shiva.
BOUDDHANATH:
From Pashupatinath Temple, a short drive to Bouddhanath Stupa located north-east. A colossal and ancient stupa; one of the largest in the world with famous all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Built by Lichchhavi King Mana Dev in the 5th A.D. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The area around Bouddhanath square surrounded by monasteries and market, the area is also called as Little Tibet, due to large number of local people with background of Tibetan origin.
