Kathmandu Valley Hills Trekking, a hike of few days just within a mere distance from the valley's eastern rim. An opportunity to explore the rural farm hill villages where one can observe interesting local culture and customs.

The beauty of these short moderate treks is a charming location, beautiful landscapes, enchanting forest, views of the Himalayan range of peaks.
 This trek is also famous for stunning sunrise and sunsets that reflect over an array of peaks, from scenic viewpoints.

Kathmandu Valley Hills Trekking starts with a drive to the northeastern rim of the city and valley to Sundarijal farm town. The walk begins climbing to a hill covered in a cool temperate forest at upper Sundarijal within lovely waterfall and streams.

The climb continues past the nice farm villages of the Tamang community and into dense forest to reach the high ridge at Chisapani. A small settlement with good lodges facing views of snow-capped peaks, a scenic spot for glorious sunrise and sunset views. 

Spending overnights at Chisapani for early morning stunning sunrise over an array of peaks of Central Himalaya. The walk continues contouring the high ridge covered in a beautiful forest with ups and downs, as the view of the mountain follows you. 

Then reaching another highlight of the journey at Nagarkot Hill town, a famous spot for sunrise and sunsets. Nagarkot is a popular tourist spot with many fine lodges and resorts where rooms face excellent views of snow peaks.

From the viewpoint of Nagarkot offers a wide range of Himalayan range, from Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang, and Jugal Himal. View of mountains extends as far to Mt. Everest in the eastern direction with striking sunrise.

After an overnight in Nagarkot, waking up early morning for a breathtaking sunrise view, on leaving Nagarkot our last day trek continues to Dhulikhel.

The final day walk leads on high ridges with a few short downs and ups with a continuous panorama of the Himalayas. As walk heads through many farm villages and into the forest, then finally our walk ends on reaching Dhulikhel.

Dhulikhel is a hill town of more than 500 years old dominated by the Newar community, a famous tourist spot like Nagarkot. Here our walk completes in this nice historical town, located on the main highway of Nepal / Tibet-China.

Next morning drive to Kathmandu with a tour of Namobuddha, a Buddhist religion holy site situated south and close to Dhulikhel. A peaceful surrounding within green woodland of tall pines and rhododendron tree lines, the visit takes you around places of importance.

From Dhulikhel and Namobuddha, an interesting short drive brings you back to the city life of Kathmandu. After a marvelous experience on Kathmandu Valley Hills Trekking.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.

Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner.

Day 2 : Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

A day in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day adventure around Kathmandu Valley Hills Trekking.

Day 3 : Drive to Sundarijal 1,450 m and trek to Chisapani 2,175 m - 04 hrs.

Kathmandu Valley Hill Trekking starts with morning drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, located at a distance of 15 k.m. outside the city and at the end of eastern valley rim. Sundarijal a small farm town, walk begins with climb to reach at Shivapuri National Park entrance. From here into forest and within farm villages, then finally climb ends at Chisapani. Located northern high ridge of Kathmandu valley, at 2,175 m, offers grand vista of snow-capped peaks from Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal, extends towards Jugal Himal range with views of Kathmandu valley, this place is also famous for stunning sunrise and sunset views. Overnight in the comfort of nice lodge facing views of beautiful mountain scenery.

Day 4 : Trek to Nagarkot 2,120 m - 06 hrs.

Waking early morning to catch stunning sunrise that reflect over range of snow peaks, having good breakfast walk on pleasant scenic trail through lovely rhododendron, pines forest then downhill to Chowki-Bhanjyang, a small farm village for possible lunch stop. Afternoon walk on winding path for few hours past Jarsing Pawa to Kartike Bhanjyang. From here uphill to Nagarkot, one of popular and famous touristic hill town of Nepal, a place with many excellent lodge and resorts. At Nagarkot check in a nice hotel, lodge or resorts for overnight stop with rooms facing wonderful views of mountains.

Nagarkot, located at 2,120 m high, offers glorious sunrises and sunset views that reflects over array of Himalayan peaks. Views from Nagarkot of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang-Jugal Himal with Mt. Gaurishankar, extends towards Everest range in the far eastern horizon.

Day 5 : Trek to Dhulikhel 1,550 m - 06 hrs.

From Nagarkot with morning views of sunrise over mountains, walk starts on winding path with some gradual up past farm villages and cultivated terraced field and into cool forest with nice wide trail with few short ups and downhill to reach another beautiful view-point of Dhulikhel, a famous tourist destination with number of fine Mountain Resorts. From Dhulikhel one can enjoy grand panorama of Central Himalaya this old Newar town located eastern rim of Kathmandu valley on the main highway of Nepal and Tibet / China.

Day 6 : Tour of Namobuddha 1,460 m and drive to Kathmandu.

Early morning another grand vista of sunrise over array of peaks, after breakfast short drive towards a pristine area at holy Namo Buddha, a sacred Buddhist place this sites known as the Three Stupas in Nepal is Tagmo Lüjin ". Where future Buddha to be sacrificed his body to a hungry tigress". 

Enjoy the tour visiting Buddhist monuments and the monastery and then head back to Kathmandu, after a lovely time at Dhulikhel and Namobuddha.

Day 7 : Free day in Kathmandu for individual activities.

A free day in Kathmandu, an opportunity to relax as well for individual activities and shopping souvenirs or join in for another interesting tour around the adjoining city of Kathmandu to Patan and Bhaktapur worth a visit.

Day 8 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after a memorable wonderful experience on Kathmandu Valley Hills Trekking around amazing Nepal Himalayas.
