On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.
Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner.
In our day 2 in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites like Swayumbhunath temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square , biggest hindu shrine Pashupatinath temple, biggest stupa Bouddhanath and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day trek to Annapurna base camp.Also we will have a meeting with trekking guide for briefing about whole trekking journey.
Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for short scenic flight to Lukla, a smaller model aircraft (Twin Otter or Dornier) enjoy 30 minutes flight overlooking Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest.
On landing at Lukla small airstrip named Tenzing - Hillary airport, from Lukla few hour walks downhill past Sherpa farm villages with views of Kwangde and Kusum Khanguru peaks. After a pleasant first day walk then reach Phakding village for overnight stop in a nice local lodge close to glacial Dudh Kosi River.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast as this will be a long day to Namche Bazaar, walk starts on gradual path, following the river upstream crossing bridges then enter Sagarmatha National Park near Monjo village.
Sagarmatha a Nepalese name for Everest, the Sherpa call Chomolungma in both languages means 'a Great Mother' from here a pleasant walk on a river bed with climb for some hour within forest lined with rhododendron and pine trees facing lovely views of snow peaks, as walk takes you to Namche Bazaar for two overnight stops. Namche one of the largest village a size of a town, lined with well-stocked stores and shops with many good restaurants, café’, banks and ATM facilities. Includes view of Kwangde and Tharmasarku.
A rest day at Namche Bazaar a perfect height for acclimatization at 3,440 m high important to spend extra nights at this altitude, before heading higher areas. At Namche to support acclimatization taka a short scenic hike above Namche for grand views of Everest and other high peaks.
Rest of the day relax and take a stroll on the streets of Namche an interesting place to browse around, especially on Saturday Market which is held once a week.
From Namche, after a wonderful time on rest day morning walk on scenic trail for few hours, and then climb up to Mong hill top a place with few small shops offers grand views of Tharmasarku, Kongde with Ama Dablam peaks.
After a short rest downhill to Phortse Tenga within Dudh Kosi River gorge covered in dense tree lines of rhododendron, fir and pines. A small place with few simple lodge for our lunch stop, afternoon walks uphill on leaving the river behind entering into cool woodland to Dole for overnight stop. A small hidden spot with few nice lovely lodges.
Adventure starts with short steep climb in the morning on leaving Dole, then on nice pleasant trail to Luza village, located on a wide field, as walk continues to reach above Machhermo facing grand views of Mt. Cho-Oyu towards north. From the top downhill to Machhermo, a lovely place and a settlement with fine good lodges for overnight. After lunch enjoy rest or take a short hike up the hill for best views of surrounding peaks.
Today another short day walk to Gokyo and the third main lake, morning starts with short steep climb to a ridge, and then following a gentle trail to Pangka at 4,545 m high, a small place with few huts and shades.
From here uphill on rocky trail to reach an ablation valley, continue walk then coming across the first lake, and then past second lake. Finally end the morning walk on reaching the third main lakes of Gokyo. Thus 3rd lake also known as Dudh Pokhari or Gokyo Lake, where many good lodges are located on the higher side from the lake.
Gokyo located at 4,800 meters high, having lunch enjoy short walk around the lake facing views of Mt. Cho Oyo world’s 06th highest and Gyachung Kang above 7,000 m peaks that reflects on emerald Gokyo Lake.
Morning at Gokyo, options for few hours hike up to scenic point on top Gokyo-Ri at 5,357 m high, almost the same height of Cho-La Pass. Offers grand panorama of world’s four highest peaks and array of mountain range. From Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu to Mt. Makalu in the east direction, as well super views of whole Gokyo valley with Nepal’s longest glacier of Ngozumba.
After an enjoyable hike to Gokyo-Ri, having lunch at Gokyo, a short walk of few hours to reach at the end of Gokyo valley eastern rim at Thagnak, the base of Cho-La Pass for overnight stop.
Start the climb having early breakfast and carrying simple pack lunch, as walk heads uphill on rocky path in between boulders of rocks. As climb continues then reach on top Cho-La, the pass festooned with many prayer flags and stone cairn as a marker of the pass. Sometime the top is covered with deep snow, having rest to enjoy the surrounding close views of nearby peaks of Cholatse, Nirekha and Taboche. Enjoy the picnic pack lunch, and the long steep descend reach to the other side of Gokyo at Dzong-la for overnight halt. A small settlement tucked in a hidden corner away from main trail.
On leaving Dzongla, morning a short climb to a ridge top, and then walk on nice gradual up, where trail from Pheriche and Dingboche joins. As walk proceeds to Lobuche for overnight stop. Located on a corner of a wide valley with number of good lodges, facing view of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.
Another great day walk to Everest base camp, one of the highlights of the adventure, walk follows on level path for sometimes and then a short steep up to a small flat area. Where route to base camp diverts, time permitting short visit to Glass Pyramid, a metrological station a joint venture of Nepalese and Italian scientist a project to study the weather and glacial movement of the Khumbu Himalayas. From here walk above Khumbu glacier to Gorakshep a place with few good lodges, located beneath lofty peak of Pumori and Kalapathar rocky hill.
After a short break continue walk to Everest Base Camp, as route takes you over moraine and ice to base camp just below the mighty peaks of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse with close view of notorious Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers.
After a marvelous and exciting adventure of a lifetime experience retrace the journey back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.
Early morning from the lodge at Gorakshep, a strenuous climb of few hours takes you on top of Kalapathar rocky hill at 5,643 meters high. The highest point of the trek offers incredible breathtaking panorama of giant mountains with close view of Mt. Everest. After a dramatic scenic moment descend to Gorakshep and continue trek downhill to Thugla. From this small spot enter the windy Pheriche valley, an hour walk on wide plain reach Pheriche a nice settlement with many good lodges and restaurants. Located close to Dingboche over a high hill, enjoy lunch break at Pheriche which is also a health post and a project station of HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association). From Pheriche an easy walk with last climb to a hill top, and then downhill to Pangboche for overnight stop.
After an enjoyable adventure visit of Everest base camp and on top Kalapathar, from here onwards altitude drops. From Pangboche with grand view of Ama Dablam, morning walk heads down to bridge and then climb for an hour to Tengboche Monastery back into green vegetation and tree lines. At Tengboche with time for short tour of its famous monastery interior of great religious interest interwoven to Buddhism.
From Tengboche on downhill to a river, with short steep climb to reach a wide nice gradual trail, as walk follows on winding path to a nice quiet settlement at Kyanjima for possible lunch stop. A small lovely spot with views of Everest-Ama Dablam and Thermasarkhu peaks, as well chances of spotting some wild life like Musk deer and Danfe the colorful pheasant a national bird of Nepal.
Enjoying a refreshing stop, carry on trekking for few hours on good trail with downhill to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop.
Last final day walks to Lukla, from Namche Bazaar morning starts with long downhill to Dudh Kosi river bed, and then walk up to Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit gate. A short walk to a lovely Monjo village and then cross a long suspension bridge to Phakding. From here onward on pleasant trail past farm villages and then an hour climb to Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest region. Enjoy last night dinner having a party among fellow members and trekking staff.
Morning as per the flight time walk to Lukla or Tenzing & Hillary airport, and then board in a small aircraft for exciting scenic flight to land at Kathmandu airport, and back within hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu. On checking into your hotel rooms, rest of the day free at leisure.
Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after a memorable and fabulous adventure to Everest Base Camp via Cho-La Pass Trekking and around amazing Nepal.
