Everest base camp trekking is one of the most popular adventures around the whole Himalaya region among adventurers and trekkers. Due to its spectacular scenery of the world's tallest mountain range, as well as the great warm hospitality of the native Sherpa. Where the walk leads to you in the heart of Mt. Everest at base camp, facing a stupendous panorama of giant peaks.

Although a high-altitude trek, our program is designed to make the walk much easier for all trekkers. Having ample time for acclimatization with rest days so that one can enjoy the beauty of the trek.
 
Everest Base Camp is one of the most visited regions where trekkers can find all types of comfort, from basic, standard, to luxury lodges. The charm of the trek is following a scenic trail throughout the journey with time to explore the local immense culture.
 
Our marvelous journey begins in Kathmandu, with a sightseeing tour around famous landmarks of the country and world heritage sites. From Kathmandu next early morning a short scenic flight to Lukla, where adventure to Everest base camp starts. Heading due north towards the mountainous country of the high Khumbu region, lined with picturesque mountain scenery. The walk leads past interesting villages from Lukla onward steeped with immense Buddhist culture as you follow the Dudh Kosi River. As the trek progresses, enter the Sagarmatha National Park, a World Heritage Site since 1979, and then head towards Namche Bazaar. 
 
A long climb from the river bed to a high ridge on a winding scenic trail to famed Namche Bazaar. A large village-size moderate town with a wide range of facilities for trekkers as well as for locals. Namche holds a colorful and lively Saturday market once a week; no wonder it is called Namche Bazaar. 
 
A favorite place among travelers and a perfect height for acclimatization, where one can spend an extra day. From Namche, after an enjoyable rest day for a hike to viewpoints, the adventure continues on a scenic trail. Overlooking grand scenery of beautiful landscapes and views of giant peaks with Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam.
 
After a lovey walk, then up to Tengboche, a beautiful spot tucked on a high ridge surrounded by an array of peaks. Tengboche is one of the best view points of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, with other ranges of lesser peaks. At Tengboche, enjoy the spectacular panorama of Everest with adjoining peaks that encircle this marvelous spot. Tengboche is located amidst beautiful woods of rhododendron and pine trees with a colorful, majestic monastery; a tour of the monastery interior is worth a visit. 
 
Which is one of the highlights of the adventure to observe the young monks and priests in religious activities. From Tengboche onwards, tree lines and vegetation slowly fade as you enter arid and barren mountainous terrain. Altitude gains slowly as the walk reaches Dingboche, located on a scenic Imjatse valley beneath the north face of Ama Dablam.
 
A beautiful spot for grand views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Taboche with Nuptse, and Lhotse peaks. A great place in Dingboche to spend another extra day to support acclimatization and hike to nearby hills. 
 
Spending an enjoyable day in Dingboche facing the grand Himalayan panorama with the world's 5th highest Mt. Makalu and Island Peak. The adventure continues, heading due north towards our final destination, Everest base camp. Walk on a gentle uphill path with an overnight in Lobuche, as the route follows on moraine and glacier to Gorakshep.
 
Located beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar hill, with a few nice lodges, from here a few hours trek to Everest base camp. Everest Base Camp, actually not the best view for Mt. Everest, but an amazing spot. Dream of millions to be at the foot of the world's number one and major adventure destinations in all the Himalayas. Where you are standing beneath giant peaks of Nuptse and Lhotse with close views of great Khumbu Icefall and glaciers.
 
During mountaineering expedition season from March to May, base camp is active and lively with many climbers of different nations.
 
On achieving goal and target, the next and last adventure takes you to the highest point of the trek on top of Kalapathar. A black rocky hill, hence the name Kalapathar (black rock), offers a mind-blowing panorama of surrounding high peaks. 
 
The only spot for closet and glorious views of Mt. Everest, enjoy the fantastic scenery lined with an array of peaks. After a mesmerizing moment, descend back to Gorakshep and continue the journey downhill to Lukla for the last overnight stop around Khumbu. 
 
The next morning, a swift flight brings you to hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu after an overwhelming adventure on Everest Base Camp Trekking.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for trek briefing, our expert guide will provides full information regarding the trek, culture, tour of Kathmandu at places of interest.

Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner.

Day 2 : Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

In our day 2 in Kathmandu for trek preparation and tour at places of great interest around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites like Swayumbhunath temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square , biggest hindu shrine Pashupatinath temple, biggest stupa Bouddhanath and then back to hotel after a wonderful time at sightseeing tour with time for preparation for next day trek to Annapurna base camp.Also we will have a meeting with trekking guide for briefing about whole trekking journey.

Day 3 : Fly to Lukla 2, 820 m and trek to Phakding 2,645 m - 04 hrs.

Morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for short scenic flight to Lukla, a smaller model aircraft (Twin Otter or Dornier) enjoy 30 minutes flight overlooking Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest. On landing at Lukla small airstrip named Tenzing - Hillary airport, from Lukla few hour walks downhill past Sherpa farm villages with views of Kwangde and Kusum Khanguru peaks. After a pleasant first day walk then reach Phakding village for overnight stop in a nice local lodge close to glacial Dudh Kosi River.


Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11, 350 feet - 06 hrs.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast as this will be a long day to Namche Bazaar, walk starts on gradual path, following the river upstream crossing bridges then enter Sagarmatha National Park near Monjo village. Sagarmatha a Nepalese name for Everest, the Sherpa call Chomolungma in both languages means 'a Great Mother' from here a pleasant walk on a river bed with climb for some hour within forest lined with rhododendron and pine trees facing lovely views of snow peaks, as walk takes you to Namche Bazaar for two overnight stops. Namche one of the largest village a size of a town, lined with well-stocked stores and shops with many good restaurants, café’, banks and ATM facilities. Includes view of Kwangde and Tharmasarku.

Day 5 : At Namche for acclimatization and a short scenic hike.

A rest day at Namche Bazaar a perfect height for acclimatization at 3,440 m high important to spend extra nights at this altitude, before heading higher areas. At Namche to support acclimatization taka a short scenic hike above Namche for grand views of Everest and other high peaks. Rest of the day relax and take a stroll on the streets of Namche an interesting place to browse around, especially on Saturday Market which is held once a week.

Day 6 : Trek to Tengboche 3,860 m - 05 hrs.

After an enjoyable rest day at Namche, the morning walk starts with a short up and then on a gradual scenic trail and descend to the Imjatse River for lunch, stopping at a small place called Phunge-Tenga. After lunch and a refreshing break, the afternoon starts with a climb within the cool shade of rhododendron, pines, and fir forest with grand views of snowcapped peaks.

After a few hours of scenic and strenuous climb reaching the Thyangboche Monastery area, here enjoy the marvelous views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kantega, Tharmasarku, and Kwangde with magnificent Mt. Amadablam in the afternoon with time to visit its interesting monastery and observe monks and priests in prayer. 

Day 7 : Trek to Dingboche 4,410 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk downhill for an hour to a bridge, where tall tree lines drop for short juniper and rhododendron bushes, which are called azalea. The view of Ama Dablam is superb on the walk to Pangboche, the last permanent village on route Everest base camp.

As the walk continues on, gradual up after a short rest at Pangboche, then stopping for lunch at Somare. From here onward into exposed, wide windswept country.

After an hour's walk from lunch, the route leads to a junction where the Pheriche and Dingboche trails meet. Our trek follows an east direction to cross a small bridge with the last climb to Dingboche, located on a scenic Imjatse valley and close beneath Ama Dablam with a grand view of island peaks in the east.

Dingboche, a summer settlement for Khumjung, Pangboche villagers, and a Yak grazing pasture as well as growing barley, wheat, and buck on a large field within its patch of stone walls to keep the animals off from grazing, due to the mass arrival of trekkers. Dingboche has many good lodges.

Day 8 : Rest day in Dingboche for acclimatization and short excursion.

At Dingboche another rest day for acclimatization before heading towards our goal at Everest base camp. Here are options for a short hike up to the hill called Nagarjung, which rewards with excellent views of the valley and high snow-capped mountains, including Mt. Makalu in the far east beyond Island Peak.

Day 9 : Trek to Lobuche 4,940 m - 05 hrs.

On leaving Dingboche, morning a short climb to a ridgetop with Buddhist prayer monuments. From the top, walk on nice gradual up to a small place, Thugla, for lunch. A small settlement with few shops and teahouses, this is where the Khumbu glacier melts into a torrential stream. As well, the trail from Pheriche and Dingboche joins. After lunch, a stop climb of less than an hour to the top at Thugla Pass is the spot lined with memorials of unfortunate climbers who died on Mt. Everest, Lhotse, or other high mountains, and then a slow, steady walk reaches you at Lobuche for an overnight stop.

Day 10 : Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m -07 hrs and return to Gorakshep.

A big day today towards Everest Base Camp, the main major highlight of the adventure. The walk follows a level path for sometimes and then a short steep up to a small flat area. Where the route to base camp diverts, time permitting a short visit to the Glass Pyramid, a metrological station, a joint venture of Nepalese and Italian scientists, a project to study the weather and glacial movement of the Khumbu Himalayas. From here, walk above the Khumbu glacier to Gorakshep, a place with few good lodges, located beneath the lofty peak of Pumori and Kalapathar rocky hill. 

After a short break, continue walking to Everest Base Camp, as the route takes you over mountains and ice to base camp just below the mighty peaks of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse with a close view of the notorious Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers.

After a marvelous and exciting adventure of a lifetime experience, retrace the journey back to Gorakshep for an overnight stop.

Day 11 : Climb Kalapathar 5,644 m / 18,514 feet trek to Phireche / Pangboche 3,985 m.

Early morning from the lodge at Gorakshep, a strenuous climb of a few hours takes you on top of Kalapathar rocky hill at 5,643 meters high. The highest point of the trek offers an incredible, breathtaking panorama of giant mountains with a close view of Mt. Everest. After a dramatic scenic moment, descend to Gorakshep and continue the trek downhill to Thugla. From this small spot enter the windy Pheriche valley, an hour walk on wide plain to reach Pheriche, a nice settlement with many good lodges and restaurants. Located close to Dingboche over a high hill, enjoy lunch break at Pheriche, which is also a health post and a project station of HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association). From Pheriche, an easy walk with the last climb to a hilltop, and then downhill to Pangboche for an overnight stop.

Day 12 : Trek to Namche Bazaar- 05 hrs.

From here, the trek becomes more enjoyable as you gradually descend, making the walk feel refreshing. After crossing a bridge, there's a half an hour climb to Tengboche Monastery, where you're back among green vegetation.

Following a brief rest, continue trekking downhill and then up from the river to a wide trail, eventually reaching Kyanjima, a quiet settlement with a few lodges for an overnight stop. This peaceful spot offers views of Everest, Amadablam, and Thermasarkhu, and is a good place to spot wildlife like Musk deer and Nepal's national bird, the colorful Danfe pheasant.

From this lovely place, retrace the walk back to Namche bazaar for lunch stop, the afternoon trek downhill to the Dudh Kosi river bed, and then walk up to the Sagarmatha National Park entrance and exit gate. A short walk to a lovely Monjo village for overnight after a great walk of the day.

Day 13 : Trek to Lukla - 04 hrs.

Final and last day walk of the adventure, morning starts on pleasant trail crossing over a bridge, as walk follows to Phakding, from here few hours to Lukla as walk leads to few ups and downhill, and then a last hour climb to Lukla for last overnight stop in Khumbu and Everest region.

Day 14 : Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu with afternoon free at leisure.

Morning as per the flight time walk to Lukla or Tenzing & Hillary airport, and then board in a small aircraft for an exciting scenic flight to land at Kathmandu airport, and back within hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu. On checking into your hotel rooms, rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 15 : International departure for homeward bound.

On your last day in Kathmandu and Nepal, depending on your international flight schedule, our staff and guide will accompany you on a short drive to the international airport for your departure. This concludes your memorable and fabulous adventure at Annapurna Base Camp and the incredible journey through Nepal.
