The walk leads you to ups and downhill through lovely farm villages and within enchanting woodland.

Hike to scenic hills of Chisapani and Nagarkot scenic hills offers stunning sunrise views over an array of the Himalayan mountain ranges. This lovely walk takes you around the beautiful scenery of rolling green hills, traditional farm villages with views of snow peaks. A nice walk on a serene trail within pristine surroundings of tall rhododendron, magnolia, and pine trees. The hike first takes you to a high ridge at Chisapani, a small village with several good lodges. One of the scenic viewpoints for striking sunrise and sunsets with series of Central to eastern Himalayan ranges.  

View from Chisapani includes as far to Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal extends to Langtang and Jugal Himal range. Stretches towards Everest range in the far eastern horizon, a wide panorama of Himalayan peaks with dramatic landscape scenery. 

From Chisapani, continue the hike on a ridgeline with down and uphill path through beautiful forest shadowed by Himalayan peaks. Finally walk ends on reaching Nagarkot, one of the best viewpoints around the hills of Kathmandu valley.

Nagarkot Hill, with many excellent lodges and resorts where all rooms face beautiful views of the Snowy Mountains. This high green hill offers magnificent sunrise and sunset views with fascinating scenery of green hills landscapes.

From Nagarkot enjoying marvelous moments facing sunrise views over an array of Himalayan peaks, last day hike on the downhill to Changunararyan. 
 A beautiful walk to end the final walk within lovely woodland then reaching Changunararyan Hindu temple. Located high above Bhaktapur city and Kathmandu valley, a small traditional heritage village. Before heading back to Kathmandu enjoy a short tour of Changunararyan Temple the oldest monument of Nepal.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Drive to Sundarijal 1,450 m and hike to Chisapani 2,175 m - 04 hrs.

Kathmandu Valley Hill Trekking starts with morning drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, located at a distance of 15 k.m. outside the city and at the end of eastern valley rim. Sundarijal a small farm town, walk begins with climb to reach at Shivapuri National Park entrance. From here into forest and within farm villages, then finally climb ends at Chisapani. Located northern high ridge of Kathmandu valley, at 2,175 m, offers grand vista of snow-capped peaks from Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal, extends towards Jugal Himal range with views of Kathmandu valley, this place is also famous for stunning sunrise and sunset views. Overnight in the comfort of nice lodge facing views of beautiful mountain scenery.

Day 2 : Hike to Nagarkot 2,120 m - 06 hrs.

Waking early morning to catch stunning sunrise that reflect over range of snow peaks, having good breakfast walk on pleasant scenic trail through lovely rhododendron, pines forest then downhill to Chowki-Bhanjyang, a small farm village for possible lunch stop. Afternoon walk on winding path for few hours past Jarsing Pawa to Kartike Bhanjyang. From here uphill to Nagarkot, one of popular and famous touristic hill town of Nepal, a place with many excellent lodge and resorts. At Nagarkot check in a nice hotel, lodge or resorts for overnight stop with rooms facing wonderful views of mountains.

Nagarkot, located at 2,120 m high, offers glorious sunrises and sunset views that reflects over array of Himalayan peaks. Views from Nagarkot of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang-Jugal Himal with Mt. Gaurishankar, extends towards Everest range in the far eastern horizon.

Day 3 : Hike to Changunararyan Temple and drive to Kathmandu - 05 hrs.

From Nagarkot with morning views of sunrise over mountains, walk downhill past cultivated terraced field to Tele farm village. On leaving the main road walk into lovely cool shade of rhododendron and pine tree lines to Changunararyan Temple. Walk into nice Newar traditional village then up the step to ancient temple of Nepal Changunararyan, located on a high hilltop also called Changu or Dolagiri. The temple area amidst forest of champak tree and small Changu village north of Bhaktapur. Changunararyan Temple dedicated to Hindu god Lord Vishnu, the temple the oldest in Nepal. The pagoda temple a masterpieces of 5th to 12th century of excellent Nepalese art. 

After an interesting tour of the temple walk to car park, and then drive back to Kathmandu with options for tour of Bhaktapur.
