Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On first arrival in Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, received by our Epic Adventures staff and guide for short transfer to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu. After a short refreshing rest in your room then join with other group members for tour briefing, our expert guide will provide full information regarding the culture, and places of interest on tour. 

Evening a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurants with local folk cultural program entertains, while you have dinner. 

Day 2 : Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

A day in Kathmandu tour for around best historical and cultural places. Our city tour guide will take you to famous areas listed in World Heritage Sites. A short drive to old Durbar square and then walk around palace courtyard in the heart of Kathmandu, an interesting place to witness the local Nepalese life and culture. Tour of famous places steeped with age-old historical and religious sites, from here towards Swayambhunath an old Stupa of more than 2,600 years old.

The famed landmark of the country a Buddhist holy sport where you can enjoy grand views of Kathmandu city with snow-capped peaks, on a clear fine day.

From here drive to holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath the major hub for Hindu followers and pilgrims, one of the most sacred temple of Lord Shiva. After an interesting of Pashupatinath temple, and then tour of beautiful Bouddhanath Stupa the largest dome monuments in Asia.

An interesting and exciting place to experience Buddhism culture, this area also known as Little Tibet, due to large number of local that resides of Tibetan origin with similar custom.

After a lovely day back to hotel, preparation for next exciting tour beyond Kathmandu city to Nagarkot for beautiful scenic panorama of Himalayan peaks.

Day 3 : Drive to Nagarkot 2,161 m with tour of Bhaktapur 1,401 m.

Morning after breakfast depart from the hotel, for an exciting drive to Bhaktapur city on the way to Nagarkot our overnight destination. A drive of less than hour reach you in the heart of Bhaktapur, an old impressive city takes you to medieval era times. Tour of all three beautiful square with main Durbar Square treasures golden gate and palace of 55 windows, and visit Nytapola a Five storied pagoda roofed temple. After an interesting de-tour of Bhaktapur city drive to Nagarkot on winding uphill past farm villages and town. On reaching at Nagarkot where temperatures drops for cooler air, facing grand views of rolling green hills and snow mountain range. Overnight in a nice lodge or resort with rooms facing excellent views of beautiful scenery and Himalayan range of peaks.

Day 4 : Enjoy sunrise and drive to Kathmandu with tour of Changunarayan.

Enjoy stunning sunrise views that reflects over array of snow peaks, after a good breakfast drive downhill past cultivated terraced field and farm village. As drive takes you to a nice Newar traditional village, a short walk up the steps to enter Changunararyan Temple, located on a high hilltop. The temple within forest of champak trees with views of Bhaktapur and the valley down below. Changunararyan Temple dedicated to Hindu god Lord Vishnu, the temple the oldest in Nepal. The pagoda temple a masterpieces of 5th to 12th century of excellent Nepalese art. 

After an interesting tour of the temple walk to car park, and then drive back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure for individual activities.

Day 5 : Drive to Pokhara 822 m - 220 km (5-6 hrs.) drives.

Morning as per size of the group either in a car, coach or in regular tourist bus, drive takes you on Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. An interesting drive with grand views beautiful landscapes and farm villages, towns. As drive continues views of distant snow mountain range and then f reach at Pokhara. A scenic city in the shadow of Annapurna and Manaslu Himalaya with majestic Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish Tail Peak.

On arrival at Pokhara, check in a nice hotel for overnight stop located near the Phewa Lake side with time for leisure stroll around lined with fancy shops, stores, restaurants and many nice hotels. 

Day 6 : At Pokhara morning sunrise views from Sarankot Hill with sightseeing tour.

Early morning before or early breakfast short drive to Sarankot to catch stunning sunrise views over array of Himalayan Mountain range, from world’s 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri 8,167 m, 10th highest Mt. Annapurna 8,091 m to 8th highest Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m. Enjoy grand views with majestic Mt. Machhapuchare “Fish Tail” stands high at 6,993 meters.

Sarankot hill at 1, 460 m one of the best view-points around Pokhara for grand panorama of mountain range, views includes green valley and city of Pokhara with Phewa Lake. Sarankot is also a popular spot for paragliding which is one of the most active sports in Pokhara.

After a great exciting and enjoyable time return back to hotel by 8-9 a.m. for breakfast and other refreshment. Tour of Pokhara continues with short drive to Devi’s waterfall visit Gupteshwor Mahadev large and deep cave, having lunch on route with time for tour of International Mountain Museum, recently added in Pokhara a Mountain Museum the first in Nepal, established and built by Mountaineering Association (NMA), on 1st Nov 1973, initiated the establishment of International Mountain Museum (IMM) in Pokhara. 

On completing tour of Pokhara and its beautiful natural surroundings, back to hotel for individual activities.

Day 7 : Drive to Chitwan National Park for wild-life safari.

Morning after a hearty breakfast, depart from the hotel for an exciting drive on main Kathmandu to Chitwan highway, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching at Tadi Bazaar at Chitwan and then head south with short drive to respective hotels close to Chitwan National Park entrance. On arrival the manger or naturalist and guide will brief regarding your stay with information on jungle and wild-life programs. After checking into your rooms and getting refreshed afternoon activity begins with short walk to Tharu village, the indigenous tribe of Terai, the low flatland of Nepal. Evening enjoy dinner with wonderful Tharu cultural dance.

Day 8 : Full day wild-life safari and exciting jungle activities.

Enjoy the fresh morning before breakfast with nature walks and wild-life safari activities, walk to platform for an elephant ride into deep jungle to catch glimpse of exciting wild animals in its natural habitat. After breakfast program includes visit of elephant stables, elephant bathing- briefing. A dug-out canoe float on Rapti River to observe fresh water Gangetic Gharial and Mugger crocodiles, if lucky including fresh water dolphins, and otters.

Jungle activities: 

Morning Bird Watch Tour, Machan (Watch Tower) Tour, Jungle walks, nature walks, elephant and jeep safari with elephant briefing and bathing elephants include more with entertainment of local Tharu cultural programs.

Day 9 : Drive to Lumbini (birth place of Lord Buddha) - 05 hrs.

Morning nature or bird-watch tour, having breakfast depart from the hotel for scenic and interesting drive heading further south west to Lumbini Buddha’s birth place, on arrival check into a nice hotels. Afternoon guide will take you for a short walk to observe local village life, quite different than other hill villages, here with more of Indian influence due to the close border with India. 

Day 10 : Full day tour of Lumbini historical and religious sites.

A full day at Lumbini for interesting tour around Lord Buddha’s birth historical and religious sites, Lumbini a special holy place for Buddhism. Tour takes you to witness a pillar erected by emperor Asoka of Magadha Kingdom of India, visited on a pilgrimage in 3rd Century BC this historical pillar with inscription stating” Here Lord Buddha was born”. 

Chinese pilgrims Tsen Tsai (4th Century A.D.), Fa-hsien (5th Century A.D.) and Hiuen-Tsang (7th Century A.D.) accounted his travel to Lumbini mentioning the holy tree, the pond, stupas and shrines. Hiuen Tsang described of Asoka Pillar. Tour of Maya Devi temple, mother of Lord Buddha, which is recently renovated under the vigilance of UNESCO. Several foreign monasteries and stupas have been constructed within Lumbini area. After an interesting tour head back your hotels and with time for short walk around farm village and town of great cultural interest.

Day 11 : Morning tour of Lumbini and fly to Kathmandu.

From Lumbini our fabulous journey comes to near to an end, as per the flight time for Kathmandu, depart from the hotel a short takes you at Bhairawa Gautama Buddha Airport for scenic less than hour flight to Kathmandu. During flight enjoy sweeping panorama of Himalayan peak, as plane lands at Kathmandu airport, and then transfer back to hotel. On checking into your rooms, rest of the day at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 12 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, as per your international flight time our staff and guide will accompany you for a short drive to international airport for final departure, after a memorable experience and cultural holiday in Best of Nepal Tour.
